The element (1) has two glass panes (2, 3) arranged in a plan-parallel manner, formed from flat glass and connected with each other via a stand-off arrangement for formation of a final-gas filled inner space (7). The gas is selected from one of air, argon and krypton. A plastic layer (8) is formed between the panes in such a manner that the inner space is divided into two separate chambers (9, 10). Distance between the layer and the panes amounts to between 12 and 20 mm. A film (11) of the layer is formed by a plastic plate. The layer causes collusion, clouding and/or dyeing of the element.
