<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium-ion battery capable of preventing the deposition (electro-deposition) of metal lithium on a surface of a negative electrode caused by overcharging, suppressing the decomposition reaction of an electrolytic solution, and thereby rapidly preventing the overcharging. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium ion battery has: a positive electrode capable of storing and releasing lithium ions; the negative electrode capable of storing and releasing the lithium ions; a separator arranged between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and the electrolytic solution. The negative electrode contains Li<SB>4</SB>Ti<SB>5</SB>O<SB>12</SB>as a negative electrode active material, the electrolytic solution has an additive, the additive is reduction-polymerized when overcharged, a resistance film is formed on a surface of the negative electrode, and the DC resistance of the negative electrode is increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
