PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bag-making/filling cylinder that achieves satisfactory falling characteristic, maintenance, and hygiene at the same time for a vertical bag-making/filling packaging machine. SOLUTION: In the structure of the bag-making/filling cylinder 32, an angular cylinder has a double cylindrical system, in which an outer cylindrical body 30 and an inner cylindrical body 31, formed such that the four corners of an angular cylindrical body have smooth curved or obtuse angles, are fitted one inside the other. The vertical openings 35a to 35d in an empty space defined between the outer and inner cylindrical bodies 30 and 31 are sealed by lids 33 and 34, other than one for a gas supply pipe 5. When the four corners of a bag are finished with hem-sealing, the angular bag-making/filling cylinder 32 enables satisfactory hem-sealing. Since the internal surface of the angular bag-making/filling cylinder 32 is smooth, falling characteristic for item being packaged and hygiene such as maintenance and cleaning are insured.
