PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store and manage image data related to a same document in a plurality of data tables consisting of units required for respective operations, and consistently perform data addition, substitution, deletion, etc., on the image data related to the document. SOLUTION: A data table as an image data registration destination and page image data to be registered in the data table are registered for every document type. Then, upon receipt of an instruction for data addition, deletion, etc., image data editing processing is performed according to user's instruction. Then, upon receipt of a registration instruction for the edited image data, page image data to be registered in each data table is registered in the each data table according to the data table as the registration destination and the page image data to be registered in the data table.
