PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination signboard that can be blinked colorfully like a neon sign and is easy to handle. SOLUTION: A desired pattern for characters, pictures, and so on is formed on a transparent plate by printing in color, applying paint, or attaching transparent color cutouts. In addition, RGB light sources are disposed in the thickness-direction end of the transparent plate. Using the transparent plate as a light guide portion, light from the RGB light sources is selectively applied from a pattern display section. Thus, the specific characters, pictures, and so on in the pattern display section that generates colors in association with colors of the RGB light sources change on the surface of the transparent plate in such a manner that which color wavelength is absorbed or reflected changes according to the color and transmission properties of the specific characters, pictures, and so on in the pattern display section due to relative changes in the respective wavelengths of the colors, dye components, and the color temperatures of the light sources.
