PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feed device capable of restraining a jam, idle feeding, double feeding or the like. SOLUTION: The sheet feed device is a device for separating and feeding stacked paper P one by one, and includes a storage tray 31 for stacking the paper P, a separation roller 34 and a separation pad 35 for separating the paper P one by one between the separation roller 34 and itself. The storage tray 31 includes a guide part 110 extending toward the downstream side along the feed direction from the front end PA of the stacked paper P and guiding the carried paper P. The separation pad 35 is provided with an extension part 513 energized toward the separation roller 34 while being supported so as to be contacted/separated to/from the separation roller 34 and extending toward the upstream side in an upstream end part in the feed direction. The guide part 110 and the extension part 513 are arranged in a line in the width direction of the paper P, and an upstream end 514 of the extension part 513 is retreated with regard to a guide surface 111 for guiding the paper P among the guide part 110 when feeding the paper P.
