The invention relates to a removable mechanical device for lifting a toilet seat, which prevents a user from urinating standing up when the toilet seat is in the horizontal position. The device allows the toilet seat to be lifted automatically along with the toilet lid, but, when an attempt is made to move the toilet lid into the closed position, the weight thereof lowers the toilet seat into the closed position. Should the user wish to sit on the toilet seat, s/he must lower the seat, safe in the knowledge that the seat has not been contaminated with urine since it has remained raised. Once the user stands up from the toilet, the toilet seat rises automatically and remains in the vertical position. If the user lowers the toilet lid onto the toilet seat, the toilet bowl is closed and the lifting system is not sufficiently powerful to lift both elements. |
