<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic accompaniment device capable of inserting a naturally-linked irregular meter during automatic accompaniment. <P>SOLUTION: In the automatic accompaniment device, automatic accompaniment pattern data in a prescribed meter including a main pattern Pm and a fill-in pattern Pf, and linkage pattern data or linkage sound data Cn are prepared in a data storage part A. When the irregular meter based on user operation (re-operation of a fill-in switch) is instructed (t2) during the reproduction of the automatic accompaniment pattern data Pf, the reproduction of the automatic accompaniment pattern data Pf is closed at prescribed timing (in the middle ts or at the end tr of a prescribed rhythm) corresponding to the instruction of the irregular meter, and the reproduction of new automatic accompaniment pattern data Pm is transferred to the next measure head (tr).
