PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus quickly taking out images comprising a plurality of aspect ratios by one photographing. SOLUTION: When photographing is performed in the state of selecting a RAW recording mode, image data of a range including recording regions with aspect ratios of 4:3 and 16:9, is preserved as RAW image data (step S9). Then, for reduced image data for display and for thumbnails, both of image data with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and image data with an aspect ratio of 16:9 are prepared and preserved (steps S11, S12).
