Disclosed are a single-phase induction motor and a method thereof, in which a switching device, such as a triac, is provided for each of the main winding and the auxiliary winding, and controlled by detecting an input voltage, thereby allowing the single-phase induction motor to be strong to variation of the input voltage, allowing a stable and efficient starting or driving of the single-phase induction motor even in a low voltage area, and protecting the motor itself from an over-voltage, whereby a fabricating cost can be reduced, and operation efficiency and reliability can be enhanced by controlling an open time of the auxiliary winding. |
