PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying device capable of detecting an accurate position of a recording object medium, without doing damage even when recording an image on a label surface of a CD and a DVD. SOLUTION: The carrying device includes a detecting mechanism 54. The detecting mechanism 54 has a detecting piece 55. The detecting piece 55 is inserted into a crank-shaped slide groove 75. The detecting piece 55 moves in the first direction 58 from a cutoff attitude (a first attitude), or can move in the second direction 59 (a second attitude). The detecting piece 55 is held in the cutoff attitude by a torsion coil spring 72, a compression coil spring 73 and the slide groove 75. A medium tray changes the detecting piece 55 in the second attitude when passing through a frame 70. Pressing force of the detecting piece 55 to the medium tray is set to become small by spring force of the torsion coil spring 72 and the compression coil spring 73. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
