PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic faucet solving problem wherein water is constantly discharged due to the erroneous detection of a discharge flow by a sensor after the discharge is started. SOLUTION: This automatic faucet discharges water automatically by detecting a detecting object by the sensor 66 having a light emitting part 62 and a light receiving part 64. When a reflected light from the discharge flow is received by the light receiving part 64 after the discharge is started by the detection of the detecting object to increase the received amount of light, a threshold is changed higher during the discharge, and when the received amount of light lowers below the changed threshold, water is stopped, and the threshold is returned again to the threshold obtained before the change.
