PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating mechanism that reduces an operating load, and to provide assistive equipment. SOLUTION: The operating mechanism 1A includes: an operating lever 2A which is pivotally supported by a first support axis 21A, and when receiving operator's force, turns around the support axis 21A as a support point; and a link member 3A which is pivotally supported by a second support axis 32A different from the first support axis 21A, and transmits the operation of the operating lever 2A to an operating wire 11 for operating an operating target. In the operating mechanism 1A, a power working point of operating load which is applied to the link member 3A from a working pin 22A of the operating lever 2A displaced by the turning of the operating lever 2A around the first support axis 21A as the support point, is arranged closer to the operating lever 2A side than the second support axis 32A.
