<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of operating a cooling fan annexed to a large motor, which can suppress the deterioration of insulation due to heat cycle and also can suppress power consumption, to say nothing of being able to suppress a rise in the temperature of a motor coil of a large motor during load-on. <P>SOLUTION: This is a method of operating the cooling fan, which is annexed to the large motor that is operated intermittently such as a mill motor. The cooling fan 3 is rotated fully in a state that the large motor 1 is load-on, and a change in the coil temperature of the motor is predicted by a model equation, based on the temperature of the motor coil and time until it becomes load-on, when the large motor 1 becomes load-off, and next, the number of revolutions of the cooling fan is controlled so that the coil temperature of the motor at start of the next load-on may be a specified temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
