<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus useful in printing that utilize induction heating of fixing members. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus 200 useful in printing includes: a pressure roll 210 serving as a first member having an external surface 216, which is a first surface; a fixing roll 220 serving as a second member comprising at least one ferromagnetic material having a relative magnetic permeability greater than 1, a susceptor over the at least one ferromagnetic material, the susceptor comprising at least one electrically resistive metal, and a second surface over the at least one ferromagnetic material and the susceptor, having an external surface 232, which is the second surface forming a nip with the first surface at which media are received; and a magnetic field generator 240 for generating a magnetic field to inductively heat the second member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
