PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of dispensing performance by detecting malfunction of dispensing operation as soon as possible by performing measurement to check to see if a sample and a reagent have been dispensed appropriately without increasing running cost. SOLUTION: The sample or reagent is led into a transparent, precisely machined fine channel and is imaged at a point in time when the sample or reagent is filled into the channel, the obtained image is analyzed to measure channel length where the sample or reagent is filled, and the measured channel length is multiplied by a channel sectional area to quantitate the amount of dispensed sample or reagent, thus determining whether the sample or reagent has been dispensed normally.
