PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily manufacture a plate heat exchanger and thereby reduce the cost. SOLUTION: In the heat exchanger, heating fluid passages 3 and heated fluid passages 4 are constituted, by laminating plates 1, 1 leaving clearances and making heating fluid and heated fluid flow in the clearances alternately to heat the heated fluid. At least a part of one fluid passage 4 is formed, beforehand, to be a flat approximate casing 2 having opened both ends, and the approximate casings are laminated via spacers 5 and constitute the plate heat exchanger. The flat approximate casing may be seamless or may be subjected to electric resistance welding. At least one end of the flat approximate casing may be a curved part; and one end and the other end may be constituted so as to be a curved part and a spacer, respectively.
