PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric discharge apparatus in which an electrode, a dielectric, a gas and a liquid can be arranged in mutually suitable positions while satisfactorily considering the savings of electric power to be used and the liquid to be used. SOLUTION: The electric discharge apparatus DA1 includes: a water storage tank 10 the sidewalls 101, 102 of which for forming a water storage part 100 are formed as regions 101a, 102a each having a dielectric property; electrodes 21, 22 which are arranged to be abutted respectively on the regions 101a, 102a each having the dielectric property and between which an AC voltage can be applied; and a water level adjustment means for adjusting the water level of the water W to be stored in the water storage part 100, namely, adjusting so that the water level of the water W to be stored in the water storage part 100 is positioned between the lower limit water level LL higher than the lower ends of the electrodes 21, 22 and the upper limit water level UL which is higher the lower limit water level and lower than the upper ends of the electrodes 21, 22.
