PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose presence information to the general public. SOLUTION: A presence information management apparatus includes: a presence information registering means in which the received presence information is registered in a presence information storage means every time the presence information of a presence provider is transmitted from a terminal device of the presence provider; and a presence information providing means in which the role attributes and compatibility attributes of the presence user who has given the request are read from a role attribute storage means and a compatibility attribute storage means respectively upon receiving a request of the provision of the presence information of the presence provider from the terminal device of the presence user, the presence information of the presence provider is read out from the presence information storage means, the read presence information is converted into presence information and displayed on the basis of the role attributes and compatibility attributes which are thus read out, and the converted presence information is transmitted to the terminal device of the presence user who has given the request.
