PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preservation method which enables sterile cooked rice to be well preserved for a long time without degradation in taste. SOLUTION: The preservation method of cooked rice is for storing the cooked rice in an oxygen-absorbing container employing, in the entire container or a part of the container, an oxygen-absorbing multilayer material comprising at least three layers including a sealant layer made of polyolefin resin, an oxygen-absorbing layer containing polyolefin resin, a transition metal catalyst and polyamide resin, and a gas barrier layer made of a gas barrier material which are laminated from the inward in the order named. The polyamide resin has a terminal amino group concentration obtained by polycondensing aromatic diamine with dicarboxylic acid of 30μeq/g or less, and the sum of the contents of the transition metal catalyst and the polyamide resin in the oxygen-absorbing layer is 15-60 wt.% relative to the total amount of the oxygen-absorbing layer.
