The invention relates to a receiving casing (1) for a coil (3) or a coil system of a sensor, such as an inductive or capacitive proximity switch (1), which casing comprises a tubular or sleeve-like outer casing (7) in which a ceramic sleeve (2) in the form of a pot having a bottom surface (4) and a peripheral wall (13) is inserted. A coil (3) or a coil system is arranged on the inner side of the bottom surface (4) and the end face (14) of the peripheral wall (13) of the ceramic sleeve (2) is closed in a gas-, moisture- and diffusion-tight manner by means of a lead-through plate (5) having lead-through pins or lead-through contacts (11) so that the ceramic sleeve (2) and lead-through plate (5) form a one-piece inner casing inside the outer casing (7), the lead-through plate (5) being supported on a peripherally extending step (8) arranged in the interior (10) of the outer casing (7) and the lead-through plate (5) being bonded or soldered or welded at the level of the step (8) in a gas-, moisture- and diffusion-tight manner.
