PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid container which can prevent leakage of liquid and a liquid ejection apparatus having the liquid container. SOLUTION: A first ink absorption block 28 is housed in a waste ink tank 13 with no gap therebetween. Furthermore, the waste ink tank 13 is formed to have a volume that it can house second and first ink absorption blocks 27 and 28; therefore, the wall porion of the tank is formed to be higher than conventional waste ink tanks. As a result, even when the waste ink tank 13 is inclined due to, for example, a movement of the printer, leakage of waste ink along the inner walls of a main body case 20 and from an opening 21 can be prevented.
