Process for pretreatment of crude vegetable or animal oil comprises passing the oil in a reactor comprising at least one fixed bed of at least one adsorbent comprising a porous refractory oxide free of catalytic metals comprising groups of 6 and 8-12, at a temperature of 130-320[deg] C, a pressure of 0.1-7 MPa with a residence time of the oil on the fixed bed of 0.1-1 hour. An independent claim is included for a process for the production of a middle distillates base comprising (a) the pretreatment process; (b) hydrotreatment of the pre-treated effluent from the step (a) in the presence of at least one fixed bed catalyst, at a temperature of 200-450[deg] C, under a pressure of 1-10 MPa, an hourly space velocity of 0.1-10 h -> 1>and in the presence of a total amount of hydrogen mixed with filler such as the ratio of hydrogen/feed is 70-1000 Nm 3>of hydrogen/m 3>of filler; and (c) separating hydrogen, gas and at least one diesel base from the hydrotreated effluent from the step (b). |
