PURPOSE: A monitor having a standby power block structure is provided to make zero power wasted in a power saving mode and standby power wasted in power-off to reduce the waste of power. CONSTITUTION: A power unit(37) provides an operation power source to each function unit. According to a switching drive signal, a switching unit(36) secludes or conducts the power supply path of an input power source. A sensing and driving unit(40) offers horizontal/vertical sync signals to a control unit(39). The control unit controls a control signal for supplying an external input power source to the sensing and driving unit if the sync signal is detected.
