Actuated combustion air damper

The valve (15) has a holding frame (11) at which an axle (16) is arranged, where the axle is supported on a retainer. Upper and lower latches (1, 2) form a latch mechanism (KM) and are controlled by a medium i.e. heat-resistant oil, so that the valve follows a hysteresis curve during its opening and closing, where the medium represent a function of combustion chamber heat. The medium is provided in an expandable element (3) and in a container i.e. thermo-capsule, in a region of a combustion chamber. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a combustion air throttle valve.
