Partitioning comprises a metal framework including uprights 1, Fig. 5, and cross beams 2 of identical cross-section of rectangular box-like form with open faces 4, 5 carrying flanges 6, 7, 8 and 9 defining rabbets into which panels 34, Fig. 8, are received. The uprights 1 and cross beams 2 are connected by pairs of metal strips 18, 19 passing through apertures 20, 21, 22, and 23 in the side walls of the uprights, the strips being arranged in opposition, one on each side of co-planar connecting webs 3 in the uprights and cross beams, the ends of the strips being provided with screws 30, 31, 32 and 33 adapted to be screwed into clamping engagement with the webs 3 of the cross beams. The panels 34 are retained by cover-strips 36 carrying means to resiliently engage within the open faces of the framework members. More than one web 3 may be provided in the framework members and in the embodiment of Fig. 12 two such webs house a steel reinforcement 44. Filling 52 may be provided between the panels. |
