CABLECARD EMULATION APPARATUS FOR DOWNLOADABLE CONDITIONAL ACCESS SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A cable card emulation apparatus for DCAS is provided to smoothly process certification-related information to easily combine a DCAS framework and middleware. CONSTITUTION: A DCAS(Downloadable Conditional Access System) module is built in an STB(Set Top Box). A cable card emulation apparatus interfaces the DCAS module each other. A cable card emulation driver(100) is installed on the OS(Operating System) of the STB. The cable card emulation driver intercepts certification-related information which middleware provided from the OS transmits through middleware porting glue. The cable card emulation driver offers the certification-related information to the DCAS module.
