PURPOSE: A fin-shaped collector brush holder comprising a rotational leaf spring, a radial direction contact unit and a brush-wear indicator is provided to replace a brush safely and rapidly during the operation of a rotational electric machine, by making the spring hold the brush to contact with a moving conductive surface. CONSTITUTION: A brush holder holds a brush(1) to contact with a moving conductive surface. A rotatable member is arranged adjacently to the brush. A spring is connected to the brush and the rotatable member. The spring biases the brush toward the moving conductive surface. The rotatable member contacts with the brush at a first position(61) and fixes the brush the brush. The rotatable member releases the brush at a second position(62) and allows the spring to hold the brush to contact with the moving conductive surface.
