PURPOSE: An information processing device for video communication and a method thereof are provided to implement a video communication function in an existing STB. CONSTITUTION: An image sensor(111) photographs an external image and creates video information. A video compression unit(113) compresses the video information and creates video compression information. A signal output unit(114) transmits the video compression information to a first STB(Set Top Box). The first STB transmits the video compression information through wire/wireless networks to a second STB. Using the received video compression information, the second STB outputs the video information through an output device.
