PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for sterilizing a water purifier is provided to sterilize water stored in a storing bath, a cool-water bath, and a hot-water bath by transferring the water to an auxiliary tank using an ultraviolet-ray lamp. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for sterilizing a water purifier includes an ultraviolet-ray lamp(140), a pump, and a controller. The ultraviolet-ray lamp is installed in an auxiliary tank(130) and generates ultraviolet ray. The pump pumps the sterilized water from the auxiliary tank to a storing bath(100). The controller controls the sterilization of the water stored in the storing bath, a cool-water bath(110), a hot-water bath(120) by driving the ultraviolet-ray lamp, the pump, and a plurality of valves. |
