METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MODIFIED-BENTONITE AND MODIFIED-BENTONITE

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing modified-bentonite and the modified-bentonite are provided to overcome the disturbance of moisture penetration between layers by modifying bentonite. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing modified-bentonite includes the following: 10 to 30 parts by weight of bentonite and 1 to 3 s by weight of propylene carbonate based on 100 parts by weight of distilled water are successively introduces into a mixer. Heating and stirring processes are followed in order to obtain a mixture at temperature of 60 degrees Celsius for 24 hours. The mixture is washed and filtered. The filtered product is dried at temperature between 80 and 100 degrees Celsius for 24 hours or more and is pulverized until the average particle size of pulverized products is between 160 and 200 meshes.
