PURPOSE: A system information transceiving method and apparatus in a wireless communication system are provided to efficiently receive system information in a terminal which operates in a sleep mode. CONSTITUTION: A terminal receives an S-SFH(Secondary-Super Frame Header) change period from a BS(Base Station)(S210). The terminal receives a P-SFH IE(Primary-Super Frame Header Information Element) including an S-SFH change frequency field(S220). The terminal receives and updates an S-SFH SP IE(Secondary-Super Frame Header SubPacket Information Element)(S230). The terminal applies contents included in the changed S-SFH SP IE from a specific point of time(S240).
