METHOD FOR ASSESSING IMPAIRED LIPID METABOLISM AND DELINEATION OF GROUP AT RISK OF STEATOSIS OF LIVER

The method for assessing the impaired lipid metabolism and delineation of group at risk of steatosis of the liver provides for measuring the percentage of the fat body mass (FBM) in the persons with the excess obesity as well the patients with non-alcoholic steatosis of the liver with metabolic syndrome. The FBM percentage is calculated by the following formula:FBM % = 64.5 – 848/IMT + 0.079 x Age – 16.4 x Age + 0.05 x Gender x Age + 39.0 x Age + 39.0 x Gender / IMTwherein Gender takes on a value of 0 or 1 for females and males correspondingly, the age is given in years. When FBM % exceeds the standard values at least 1.8-fold (the standard values are 20 % for males and 30 % for males), the computed tomography is performed. According to the data of computed tomography, VFT/SFT ratio is calculated wherein VFT is the area of the visceral fat tissue in cmand SFT is the area of the subcutaneous fat tissue in cm. The ratio exceeding 0.65±0.3 suggests the visceral distribution of the fat and the development of the steatosis of the liver.
