A drive of circular knitting machine has an electric motor that is kinematically connected to vertical drive shaft at the ends of which cylindrical pinions are rigidly fixed for connection of the upper one of those to toothed wheel of knitting mechanism. It is equipped with additional pinion connected to vertical drive shaft and toothed wheel of knitting mechanism placed in position opposite in diameter to cylindrical pinion.
