PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device for experiencing the operation of a vehicle through collision safety control. SOLUTION: The vehicle control device 20 determines, on the basis of the distance and relative velocity between the own vehicle and an obstacle, whether the own vehicle collides with the obstacle and, when there is a possibility of collision, performs collision safety control to reduce the traveling speed of the own vehicle. The vehicle control device 20 includes: a normal traveling processor 251 which determines whether the collision can be avoided and when it is determined that the collision is unavoidable, performs collision safety control; and an experience traveling processor 252 which determines whether preset experience traveling execution conditions are satisfied and, when the experience traveling execution conditions are satisfied, performs collision safety control in place of the normal traveling processor 251.
