PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disc drive apparatus which can stably perform a seek operation at high speed, when two optical pickups are carried in one thread mechanism to perform writing simultaneously, reading simultaneously or writing and reading simultaneously, and to provide an optical pickup control method and a program. SOLUTION: There is provided the optical disc drive apparatus which includes first and second optical pickups for reproducing data recorded on an optical disc for recording data to the optical disc, a slide mechanism which carries the first and second optical pickups for making them slide in the radial direction of the optical disc, a first optical pickup control part which makes the first optical pickup perform search based on a seek command, a slide mechanism control part which controls the slide mechanism based on the seek command, and a second optical pickup control part which turns off a tracking servo of the second optical pickup when sliding by the slide mechanism.
