PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker excellent in the energy saving effect, capable of reducing the thermal energy necessary for the boiling/steaming or warming the rice by accumulating heat in a discharge path of a lid for discharging steam within a pot to outside air when the rice is boiled. SOLUTION: The rice cooker 1 includes the pot 3, and the lid 4 for closing an opening of a rice cooker body 2. The lid 4 includes an opening/closing mechanism 7 for making the inside of the pot 3 communicate with outside air or shut from outside air so that the pressure in the discharge path 6 for discharging steam in the pot 3 to the outside and the pressure in the pot 3 are approximately uniform. The steam discharge path 6 is formed of a metal material, clad material or ceramic material with an excellent heat storage property.
