NEGATIVE ELECTRODE FOR NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY AND NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY

Disclosed is a negative electrode for non-aqueous electrolyte secondary batteries which comprises a negative electrode core and a negative electrode mixture layer attached to the negative electrode core, and in which: the negative electrode mixture layer comprises graphite particles, a water-soluble polymer which coats the surface of the graphite particles, and a binding agent which binds the graphite particles coated in the water-soluble polymer; the specific surface area of the negative electrode mixture layer is 2.2-3m²/g; and the bond strength between the graphite particles coated in the water-soluble polymer is at least 14kgf/cm². A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery containing the disclosed electrode exhibits excellent charge/discharge efficiency as a result of the inhibition of the degradation of the non-aqueous electrolyte which is caused by the reaction between the graphite particles and the non-aqueous electrolyte.
