PURPOSE: A PAN precursor fiber for carbon fibers is provided to manufacture carbon fiber of high quality and to improve process stability. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for coagulating a spinning solution(2) of PAN precursors for carbon fibers is mounted in a main coagulation bath(3) in a separated state of baffle coagulation bath under the nozzle end. The baffle coagulation bath is cylindrical with a hole at the bottom. The length of the cylinder is two or three times longer than the inner diameter of the cylinder.
