摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission which is shifted in multiple stages and increased in efficiency while reducing the number of components and the size thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In this parallel axis transmission 1, an input shaft M is formed in a double structure having a first input shaft M1 and a second input shaft M2 installed on the same axis. The transmission includes a first clutch CH for changing over between the disengagement and engagement of the first input shaft M1 and the second input shaft M2, a second gear assembly G2 which is installed between the input shaft M and an idle shaft L and which changes the gear ratio of the first gear assembly G1 for decreasing or increasing a speed, a second clutch CL for changing over between the presence and absence of the input of a drive force into the second gear assembly G2, and a gear shift mechanism part GT comprising gear assemblies GT1, GT2 for gear shift installed between the second input shaft M2, an intermediate shaft S, and an output shaft C. The number of shift stages which is twice the number of shift stages obtained by the gear shift mechanism part GT can be obtained by selectively combining the disengagement and engagement of the first and second clutches CH, CL with the shift stages set by the gear shift mechanism part GT. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
