<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for printing an electrostatic latent image by using a developing fluid in an electrophoretic-type printing apparatus, which is free from a change in toner characteristics and degradation in print quality. <P>SOLUTION: The device is provided with a rotating application means with a first potential applied thereto. The application means receives a developing fluid in a developing fluid gap and carries the developing fluid to an electrostatic latent image carrier. A counter electrode with a second potential applied thereto is disposed near the application means. The developing fluid gap is provided between the counter electrode and the application means. An electric field is generated between the counter electrode and application means based on the first potential and second potential. At the exit of the developing fluid gap, a separation electrode is disposed adjacent to the counter electrode and application means so as to protrude into the developing fluid gap. The separation electrode forms a discharge pipe together with the counter electrode. The separation electrode divides a developing fluid moving through the developing fluid gap into a first partial flow and a second partial flow. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
