PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system capable of dealing with a suspicious person, who may frequently appear on a road around a house by expanding a crime prevention function of the intercom system, and further including a function of recording video images. SOLUTION: In an entrance slave unit 1, a radio receiving section 17 is provided for receiving a signal transmitted from a portable transmitter 3 which is carried for crime prevention with an unspecific person and transmits a specific radio signal according to a predetermined operation. In a sitting room master unit 2, a master unit CPU 34 is provided for driving a camera 13 upon reception of the specific radio signal with the radio receiving section 17, recording a video image captured in a video recording memory 27, and emitting warning sounds different from call sounds to be emitted in calling from the entrance slave unit 1 and the sitting room master unit 2.
