PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 5-sulfoisophthalic acid diglycol ester metal salt composition of high purity and a manufacturing method of the same. SOLUTION: The composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a 5-sulfoisophthalic acid diglycol ester metal salt represented by formula (1) and 0.5-6 pts.wt. of glycol, where the transition metal content is at most 0.0001 pt.wt.
