PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device of manufacturing a flat display device including a process to stick a protection plate 6 on an image display face side of a display panel 5, by which manufacturing cost is reduced and manufacturing efficiency is improved. SOLUTION: Position alignment of the protection plate 6 and the display panel 5 is performed during sticking process after application of an adhesive resin, or later than this, by using a fixture 75 for position alignment of a rectangle frame form or a tray form. At this time, mutual position alignment is performed by striking and contacting two edges of the rectangles of end faces of the protection plate 6 and the display panel 5, to inner wall faces 75G and 75F of the fixture 75 for position alignment. In a state where the position alignment has been performed in this way, a mutual position shift is avoided by locally emitting light on a plurality of spots 93 in an image display area.
