PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the seismic isolation unit which can be manufactured easily and cheaply while the structure is supported effectively to a large scale earthquake and also a minor scale earthquake. SOLUTION: The seismic isolation unit 1 to support the load B in the lamination direction A is provided with the laminate 4 which is elastically free shear deformation in the shearing direction C while the elastic material layer 2 and the rigid material layer 3 are interlaminated and the vibration energy absorber 7 which absorbs the vibration energy in the shearing direction C by deformation in the shearing direction C concerned, which is free deformation and added in the shearing direction C while being arranged to the specified hollow part 6 on the inner circumferential face 5 of the laminate 4.
