<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel structure which facilitates welding works and a correct welding management (welding confirmation) and employs a short square-shaped steel pipe for full coping with out-of-plane deformation, while thinning the plate thickness of the short square steel pipe to attain weight reduction. <P>SOLUTION: Beam materials 5, 6 are connected to the beam member connecting portion of a square-shape steel column 2, constituting a steel structure 1. The square steel column 2 includes a long square steel pipe 20, with a predetermined plate thickness t and a short square steel pipe 10 thicker in plate thickness T than the long square steel pipe 20 and formed with beam member connecting portion. A square plate body 12 with the plate thickness Ta same as the plate thickness T of the short square steel pipe 10 is fitted in both ends of the short square steel pipe 10, and the end surface 10a of the short square steel pipe 10 is jointed through welding 13 to the outer surface 12a of the square plate body 12 into the same surface shape. Since welding work is carried out at the end of the short square steel pipe, namely, on the outer surface (external portion), easy welding 13 can be attained, which also facilitates correct welding management. When welded substance is dripped within the short square steel pipe, the dripping can be prevented with the outer surface of the square plate body, allowing proper welding connection to be conducted at a corner section all the time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
