PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detector which enables prevention of deformation of wiring members such as a lead and a terminal and disconnection of these members. SOLUTION: The liquid level detector 1 includes a float arm 3 which is equipped with a float 2 operating and following the displacement of a liquid level, a tubular magnet 5 which rotates with the operation of the float arm 3, and a detecting element 6 which detects a magnetic change of the magnet 5. The detector includes a shield case 10 covering the magnet 5 and the detecting element 6 and case bodies 8 and 9 which are so provided as to cover the shield case 10. The shield case 10 has a bottom 10a and a wall 10b provided in the periphery of the bottom 10a, and is provided with a smooth 10e outside the end portion of the wall 10b on the side opposite to the bottom 10a side.
