[Also in Division H5] Flue gases from an electric reduction furnace 1, 2 are drawn by a fan 44 through a dust pocket 35, a vertical cooling drum 37 and a waste heat boiler 40 to a chimney 45. The boiler 40 is provided with pipe coils 41 and 42 and is shot-cleaned in the downstream direction by a device 39. Valves 49 and 50 may be operated to pass the gases directly to a chimney 48 when the boiler is to be inspected. Highpressure water cooling pipes 47 may be connected to the furnace cooling system. The drum 37 may serve as a combustion chamber for additional oil burners. |
