The invention relates to enhanced bioavailability solid oral formulations containing at least one biphosphonic acid or one of the salts thereof (BP) and at least one sodium ion donor agent, said formulations allowing improved solubility of the BP independently of the calcium and magnesium concentration contained in the water drunk when taking the medication, and independently of the pH encountered in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It is demonstrated that formulations according to the invention have improved bioavailability compared with the reference specialty product.
