PURPOSE: A method for determining species or origin of Trichiuridae is provided to simply, quickly, and accurately determine species or origin. CONSTITUTION: A method for determining species or origin of Trichiuridae comprises: a step of performing PCR using DNA isolated form a species of Trichiuridae to obtain a PCR product; a step of binding the PCR product to a probe which is identical with each DNA of sequence numbers 3-10 or complementary base sequence thereof; and a step of determining origin or species of the species of Trichiuridae. The species of Trichiuridae is Trichiurus japonicus, Trichiurus sp., or Trichiurus lepturus. The isolated DNA contains SNPs of COI gene site in a mitochondria DNA of Trichiuridae.
